About your Session

We are going to have a BLAST creating memories that will late a lifetime. After you book a session, you will get an email with some fun things to read over before your session. To help you muddle through the process, here is a little basic information on what to expect from your session with Tami Fosher Photography. Everyone has lots of options when it comes to choosing a photographer, and I’m honored you are here to check me out! I do hope you spend some time browsing around and getting a feel for my style.

Booking a session:

To book a session, contact me to discuss time and session type you want. If you have questions about anything on that form or want to book via cash  or check contact me via the contact tab or at tami@tamifosherphotography. Your session fee must be paid to hold your spot.

The best times of day (and normally the only times I shoot) are early morning, within 90 minutes of sunrise, and late evening, within 2 hours of sunset. I know with kiddo’s, this can be difficult and we can work around that, but good lighting is so important to a perfect session. To have those beautiful backlit, gorgeous lit photo’s, it’s worth it to adjust your kiddo’s schedule for this one day!

Once you’ve booked your session, you will be sent a link to my private client site with more detailed information on what to expect. Please don’t underestimate how important it is to read through this carefully!

Before your session:

I need the goods! I want to know all about you so I can really be prepared and plan a session that works for you.  Before the session, we will communicate about your session either on the phone or online.  After you book your session, I will email you a questionnaire to fill out with information about your (and your family members, if applicable) and what you want to get from your session. This information is super important so I ask that you do it right away.

Additionally, I will send out a model release and contract. This protects you and ensures we are on the same page about the session and what to expect. It’s easy, it’s done online (GO green!) and it should help answer any of those questions you never think to ask.

During your session:

We will meet up at the location decided and we will have FUN!  I will normally arrive early to the session to check out lighting and find our best spots.  Photo sessions can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the session chosen. Your session will include a variety of posed photos and artistic photo’s, then move into shots of everyone interacting and more “artistic” photos.  I will give you some guidance and pointers when we are shooting, but I like things to be very laid back and calm. It’s super important for you to relax and just have fun. Don’t stress about your kids or your hair, or everything being perfect. I have kids, I know kids and I know that it’s hard to get them to always cooperate. It’s best to not stress and get upset. Let them have fun and express themselves.

After your session:

Galleries are ready typically within 3 weeks of your session and images are sent to you via digital download.

For Mini Sessions and Petite sessions, within 1-2 weeks of your session, I normally have your proofing gallery ready to view and will send an email to you outlining the processes of choosing final images. It’s important you set some time aside to choose final images quickly, the sooner you do, the sooner you get them back.   You have 1 week to complete your order and we can schedule an in-person viewing session to help.

Within a few days, I will post a sneak peak on my Facebook page for you.  Feel free to tag yourself in the photo and share it with your friends!

What should you wear?

This is one of the most asked, and hardest questions. I’m not in to matching.  At all. Wear something coordinating, but they don’t need to match. Mix it up with patterns and textures, different fabrics and LOTS of layers. For families it’s many times easiest to pick one outfit first and go from there. In case you need some inspiration, I have put together a “What to Wear” board  that will give you ideas for outfits and color schemes!
